Leading elements of ripe black cherries are underlain in both the aromas and flavors of this stylish youngster by complexing touches of minerals, toast and a rather more obvious streak of oaky spice. The wine has plenty of body and a good, supple feel at entry but finishes with a distracting edge of astringency and its slightly dry finish calls out for just a bit more fruity length in order to win higher marks.
