In the mouth the wine is smooth throughout the taste. In the front, the fruit so evident in the nose comes through fresh and clean; berries, cherries and currants. As the taste moves back tannins begin to assert their presence and they are still bright, but definitely heading towards maturity. The mouthfeel is very full. Some light spice tastes, not pepper, are here, as are the hints of northern California soil and just a touch of smoke. The finish is long, warmed a bit by the alcohol and some pleasant fruit taste lingers a bit. This is a very good bottle of wine.
